What is Transcend Lab?

Transcend Lab is an immersive audio/visual experience that features live VJ and DJ sets, dancers fitted with motion capture suits, and real-time interactive art installations. The A/V sets will be completely improvised and utilize state of the art technology to push the boundaries of live visuals. The show will be presented on a massive LED wall and projectors provided by 4Life Entertainment, as well as a 4 point void acoustic sound system at the legendary Chocolate Factory in Brooklyn. Motion captured data from live dancers will be projected in real time on the screens through the power of Perception Neuron Motion Suits, Axis Studio, and Unreal Engine. The real time interactive art installation is a collaboration between all VJs on the lineup and utilizes Touch Designer as well as GLSL code. As attendees walk up to the installation, we will track their motion and send that data to a LED wall in front of them (like a mirror). The lineup of featured visual artists use a wide range of programs to bring their visuals to life, such as; Unreal Engine, Resolume, Synesthesia (GLSL Code), Touch Designer, Notch, Cinema 4D, Blender, ZBrush, and so on. ZiP Visuals / Visual Artist
ZiP Visuals, a Brooklyn-based VJ and founder of Transcend Lab. His innovative mixing style and custom 3D content brings music to life in a new way. His style is characterized by the fusion of vibrant, 3D animations and his unique, whimsical imagination. His set will feature dancers and state of the art motion capture technology powered by Perception Neuron, Axis Studio, and Unreal Engine 5. ZiP's art contributions can be found all over the music industry, including touring with Dead & Company and Trey Songz/Keisha Cole, as well as playing at festivals such as Elements and Boom Festival (Portugal), and many more. Tyme Visions is a rising VJ from Philadelphia, PA, known for his innovative and immersive visual art. His work stands out for its seamless integration of digital and organic elements, creating a mesmerizing, otherworldly experience. His VJ style seamlessly integrates both live audio reactive visuals, 3D renders, and captivating 2D aesthetics. He is one of the lead developers on our installation and was recently featured at TnF Suwannee and is the visual director for the Philly-based group Universal Emotions. Oneirogen / Visual Artist
Oneirogen is a visionary artist from Boulder, CO. His art often features vivid 3D animations and remarkable particle simulations that respond in real-time to music, creating a symbiotic relationship between sound and sight. His fundamental approach to VJing sets his apart from others in his field; blending real-time art in Notch with incredible 3D animations from Blender. His style not only enhances the auditory experience, but also provides a visual journey that complements and elevates the music. Psybernautics / Visual Artist
Psybernautics is a renowned GLSL artist known for his intricate shader art. Based in Denver, Psybernautic's art is a mesmerizing audio/visual experience; his work seamlessly integrates digital art with music, creating dynamic, captivating environments. He has several major releases in the Synesthesia marketplace and is a developer/performing artist for the Pretty Lights Live Band. He is also a lead developer on the interactive installation, featuring some of his state of the art Talk-to-Text AI shaders. His visual contributions continue to shape and inspire the digital art community. |
Chris Karns / Turntablist
Chris Karns is a US and World DMC Champion. Known for his technical mastery and innovative style, Chris seamlessly blends hip hop and electronic music through intricate scratching. His career includes collaborations with top artists and he has been a long standing member of the Pretty Lights Live Band. Whether he's playing a sold-out stadium or collaborating with emerging artists, Chris continues to push the envelope, redefining what it means to be a turntablist in the 21st century. Mindex / DJ
Mindex is a versatile electronic music producer, known for his unique blend of glitch hop, downtempo, and psychedelic bass. He has developed a distinct sound that mashes intricate rhythms with otherworldly textures; his art is truly an immersive auditory experience by itself. Mike Wallis, a key member of the English group KLO, is a pioneer in the genres of glitch hop and downtempo electronic. His innovative production techniques and complex rhythms have helped define KLO's distinctive sound, as well as many other side projects; including Crunch, a side project with Tipper. Mikayli, a Brooklyn-based DJ and Producer, is making waves in the DnB/Dubstep scene. His rise in the New York underground has been fueled by his unique style and ability to blend genres. He is the recent winner of the mix contest for the kLL sMTH Ogden event in Denver and has performed at major festival all across America; including Elements, Moonwalk, and many more. Lufilthy, a rising star in the rap scene, brings a unique blend of raw lyricism and introspective storytelling. Hailing from Brooklyn, Lufilthy's music captures gritty urban narratives with a mix of personal reflections. His distinct voice and lyrical agility resonates with fans for its authenticity and raw emotion. With a growing discography and a dedicated following, Lufilthy is bringing something fresh to the electronic Hip Hop scene. |
